Memorable Moment
Title:  Memorable Moment
Description:  Every picture has a story behind it, and this one is no exception. As usual, after class I went and checked the lights at Victoria St and thankfully it was green. So I decided to head over to Lexington Industrial Park to take advantage of the snow that was coming down. It wasn't long before I heard a low ominous bass off in the distance, shortly after I heard the distinctive sound of a horn. After a few minutes I then heard the low bass get much louder, a sure sign L517 was at Cardigan West climbing up grade. It got louder and more rich as the power got closer, it sounded like an older EMD, and was music to my ears. However, I still didn't know what the power was until I saw the gates at Lexington Ave drop and the lead unit exposed itself. Seconds later I got the shot you see above. It just goes to show that patience is well worth it!

Doing Track Speed
Title:  Doing Track Speed
Description:  After catching L516 at White Bear Lake, I decided to make a go for the High Bridge at Somerset. Traffic wasn't on my side for that, so I headed over to New Richmond to capture this shot. I'm sure happy I got this shot here as the two GEs came by at track speed.

Daylight Apperance
Title:  Daylight Apperance
Description:  Train L516 heads through White Bear Lake with two big GEs for power. This train was running about 12 hours behind its usual time due to a derailment in Stevens Point, thus making a rare daylight apperance.

WC Transfer Part Two
Title:  WC Transfer Part Two
Description:  Again, thanks to my college schedule this shot was able to happen. I had just got out of class at 1:40 when I heard a horn, and a very short time later I saw L517 blasting by Bethel. It turned out this was second WC Transfer of the day, I believe the crews of 516/517 swapped trains at Somerset which allowed this to happen.

Snowing day on Shoreham Hill
Title:  Snowing day on Shoreham Hill
Description:  The WC transfer comes up to 37th and Stinson Ave while a heavy amount of snow comes down. While the snow helps to make for a nice picture, it makes it tough to get a clear shot. The camera tries to focus on the snow, rather then the power.

After school treat
Title:  After school treat
Description:  I was on my way home after school when I saw the top fans of an EMD unit. So I took a closer look and saw that it was of a WC unit! This is the first time a WC unit has been in 11 months.

Stunning Surprise
Title:  Stunning Surprise
Description:  Wow, what a great way to end the week! After a slow day at school, my day went from sad to glad as soon as I saw a WC GP40 leading the WC Transfer. Here WC 3024 is seen leading L506 (WC Transfer) down to Humboldt Yard as its about to head under Silver Lake Road. This was the first WC unit down here since March 1st, 2009.

Late Night Treat
Title:  Late Night Treat
Description:  After class, as usual, I swung by the pole yards to see if L516 had departed yet. Thankfully it hadn't, and it had a great leader too!

Coming down the line
Title:  Coming down the line
Description:  After having to head out to WI to dog catch the crew of L517, the WC is seen heading down to the CP and BN at 37th and Stinson Ave NE. This was one of the best things of my day, earlier the cars electrical system decided to die.

Description:  Due to the transfer having to clear the West Wye switch, it pulled up to Town Homes crossing and came up just far enough for this picture before shoving back.

Just in time!
Title:  Just in time!
Description:  We all have those close calls, this time it was in terms of battery life. Not even 10 seconds after I got his shot, the camera battery died. Had I waited longer I wouldn't have been able to shoot this old gem.

IC 1036
Title:  IC 1036
Description:  In the last light of the day, the WC Transfer performs some switch moves before doubling up, and heading out to the main. This was the first time in about a year that two IC SD70s were on the Transfer. Ironically, the two ICs that were paired up today, were the very same two that were paired up a year ago
