RARE - GTW 0-8-2 #3522 - Grand Trunk Western
Title:  RARE - GTW 0-8-2 #3522 - Grand Trunk Western
Description:  This is actually a rare 0-8-2 loco but listed in RRPA as a 2-8-2 since there was no choice for this unusual wheel configuration. History - Built by the GTW shops, 1936-37, conversion of 2-8-2 class S-1-h to 0-8-2 by removing the pilot truck. This places more weight on the drivers making them more suitable for yard work. Original specs - Alco-Schnectady, 1918,2-8-2, 27x30-inch cylinders, 63-inch drivers, and a boiler pressure of 175 pounds, 52,000 pounds of tractive effort. A note on the back statesd "GTW 3522 0-8-2 converted from 2-8-2 on loan to CN-CV at Rouses Point, NY. 6/1950" , W.G. Fancher photo
