Description:
Long, massive and powerful, this articulared 2-8-8-4 Yellowstone type steam locomotive was built for the Baltimore & Ohio in 1943 by Baldwin and was one of the last group of steam locos to be sold to the B&O. It was renumbered to BO #661 in 1956 and scrapped two years later in 1958. Specs - 64" drivers, impressive 235 psi boiler pressure, four 24x32" cylinders, engine weight of 628,700 lb, impressive tractive effort of 115,000 lb. R.F. Amberger photo

BO 2-8-8-4 #675 - Baltimore & Ohio
Description:
Built by Baldwin in July of 1945 as B&O 2-8-8-4 #7625, an articulated Yellowstone type steam locomotive (serical #71507), it was one of the last steam locomotives built for the B&O. The loco was renumbered in February of 1957 to BO #675. It lasted until being scrapped in 1960. BO 2-8-8-4 #666 - Baltimore & Ohio
Description:
Massive and powerful, this articulated 2-8-8-4 Yellowstone type steam locomotive was the last steam to be built for the Baltimore & Onio in 1943. Truthfully, the B&O really wanted diesels but governmental restraints forced the purchase of the EM-1 articulated steam locos. Originally built as BO #7616, it was renumbered in 1956. It lasted until being scrapped in 1960.
