Was it spread gauge?
Title:  Was it spread gauge?
Description:  Seeing this track gauge here, you have to wonder if spread gauge was the cause of this event. Note the angle bar in the lower right that's missing a bolt. From that point north, the rail rolled over.

Good thing for crossings
Title:  Good thing for crossings
Description:  Thanks to this crossing, the derailment was limited to seven box cars. Due to SSW 60965 dropping back down to the ties while CP 42452 was still riding "high" on the asphalt of the crossing, the train broke and the air brakes dumped. That's my theory, anyway.
