Description: |
My first load which origanated in Valdosta Ga. is completed and being unloaded at Georgia Pacific in Dubuque Ia. It was made up of 8 rolls of paper which maxed me out at 80,000 pounds. This was a load that could have been hualed via the railroad. I made the trip with in 48 hours and still like RRs have to run on hours of service. It would take a 50' RBOX car a week to make the same trip. This facility is also served by the ICE. |

Blinded by the light |
Description: |
With 10 degree temps and wind blowing at 50 Mph, I'm glad I had a 78,000 pound load. Evan still it was a little tricky to keep rolling at 40 Mph and with the snow wipping across the road way, It can play tricks with you head! The UP main is to left as I was heading west on I70 towards Denver. Most cars or 4 wheelers as we call'em had pulled off the road at this point. Weather elments is all part of the job in both trucking and railroading as we will fight to get the goods delivered! |

While I head north on US Hwy 287 near Marsh Texas, A BNSF stack train heads toward Amarillo. Both my self and the crew of the stack train are not bothered by the 10 degrees and 40 Mph winds on this day, Because neither of us have to work out side the confines of our cozy Comfort Cabs! |

My SD40-2 wana be |
Description: |
Just like the Railroad, I have to battle the elements also. When I went "on the law" the night before, the previous day it was sunny and 70 degrees! When I woke up, My truck said it was 18 degrees and it was snowing pretty hard. I took this shot after I fueled before I got on the road. This is my personal SD40-2 of the highway! I don't have a 645 series prime mover, but I do have one of the biggest engines on the road, a Cat C15. This load was picked up in Hanover PA and destined for Indianapolis IN. This winter does not seem to show any signs of being graceful. It's not very fun have to chain up a big truck several times a day. May be I need some flanged wheels to go on this thing! |

After picking up my load in Garland off of McCree Rd from The Home Depot, I ran in to this local as he made his move across while they had a chance in a break of traffic. Huh, A train waiting on 4 wheelers, Whats up with that? What a nice day it was. To bad I couldn't take the day off! Oh well, I had to get on the road to Houston. |

HRT 3021 |
Description: |
The Hartwell local rest in the warm sunny Sunday afternoon light in Lavonia Ga. Since having a run to Charlotte North Carolina, I knew as I headed north up I85 from Atlanta that it would be a good time of day to exit at MP173 (Lavonia) and shoot the Hartwell's train. My semi rest to the right while I shot a few pictures. I also knew there was more than enough room for me to accsess the area with a big truck. |
