A note on the back by photographer Anthony H. Perles states "L&PS L2 at CNR interdange, while CNR 4-6-2's 5585 and 5143 (class K-3) get under way with a coal drag westbound." The L2 )along with its 2 other sisters) was built in 1915 by GE of Canada for a cost of $29,367. After retiring, it was stored for a museum which never materialized. L2 was later sold privately and moved to the Toronto area. In February 1997, L2 was moved to the Halton County Radial Railway following its donation to the OERHA. |

Looking very much like a posed shot, Anthony H. Perles was able to capture a nearly full roundhouse collection posing at the Turcot Yard in Montreal, Canada. The roundhouse was demolished in 1962 and the yard reduced to only a few tracks with a massive road interchange built on the site to handle the car traffic through the area. The locos in the photo are left to right - CN 3424 (2-8-2). 3304 (2-8-2), 5282 (4-6-4), 46 (4-6-4T), 2567 (2-8-0) and 3488 (2-8-2). |

Stopped under the suspension bridge over the tracks at Palmerston, Ontario, as the engineer takes a stroll is Canadian National 4-6-2 Pacific #5572. Built as GTR #236 by the Montreal Locomotive Works in January of 1913, the loco merged onto the CN roster in 1923 as their #5572 (serial #51915, class K-3-a). After 46 years of service, the loco was scrapped in its birth month of January of 1959. Good looking shot of Canadian National 4-6-2 Pacific stopped at the St Marys, Ontario, Canada, station with its passenger train in tow. Originally built as GTR #240, it merged onto the CN roster as their 5576 (serial #51919, class K-3-a) during the railroad reorganization in 1923. The loco was scrapped in August of 1962. No date, location or photographer was listed for the photo although the station sign identifies the locaiton. |
