Description:  Between M'ville (CPF 467), across the Hudson River Bridge to here (CPF 464) it is double track. It is single track to Eagle Bridge (CPF 448), where a 3 mile stretch of double starts, then is single the rest of the way to North Adams (CPF 423). This is how Guilford chooses to operate it's railroad, after they tore out all the double track that existed.

Description:  For many years, the NY17C overpass in west Endicott had a message on it welcoming visitors to the BC Open, a PGA tour event that was played on adjacent En-Joie golf course. Here CP train 557 passes under on its way to Toronto.

Title:  Tunkhannock Viaduct
Description:  DLW built this in 1915 to span the Tunkhannock Creek valley after rejecting a fill at this location. Its massive, and still the largest steel reinfoced concrete structure in the world. In some ways its hard to shoot a train here, as the bridge dwarfs anything on it-not that I wont try!! Heres 164 going across.

Description:  The flags were not a big deal. Even after CP stopped repainting its diesels in the "Dual Flags" scheme, they showed up in it for some time after. The visitor was the second unit. Description:  Train 254 is out of Binghamton and headed for Jersey with 30 stack platforms and 4 COFC behind a pair of SD40s, one a CP unit, the other a GATX leaser passing Willow Run Foods in Kirkwood. This was not an uncommon event, as NYSW often took run through power to Jersey on stack trains.

Description:  The first train with CP power was an acid train from Montreal to Baltimore, here seen just after leaving East Binghamton yard, approaching Shaw Rd in Conklin. Consist was the three CP SDs and 42 loads of sulfuric acid, with two idlers at each end.

Description:  The maple leaf, that is. The first train to come through with CP power was this 42 car acid train, symbolled 700, which ran from Montreal to Baltimore. We see it rolling south out of East Binghamton at Shaw Rd behind a trio of CP SD 40s, power we would become quite accustomed to over the next 20 years.

Description:  One of the irregular but frequent trains was BUAB, a loaded grain train that went to the Port of Albany to be loaded on ships for export. One of those trains reflects the late afternoon sun as it passes Hiawatha Rd on its way to Binghamton and a crew change with 84 cars to go north.
