Title:  CITY OF ELKHART
Description:  Former CRI&P chair-club parlor observation #454 MINNESOTA at the National NYC RR Museum, painted in NYC colors and named CITY OF ELKHART. Built by Budd in September 1937 in Lot #972 as CRI&P #454 MINNESOTA, 28 seat chair-club-24 seat parlor observation, forward chair section changed to 16 seat parlor in 1948 (rear parlor seats reduced to 20), forward section returned to 28 seat chair in 1953, bar removed in 1957 (rear parlor seats increased to 27), to instruction car (for new IBM equipment) in 1965, retired and sold later same year to Lanlow Warehouse in South Bend, IN, resold in 1988 to a restaurant in Elkhart, IN, later moved to the National NYC RR Museum.
