L&N 796 sits along the platform at the old L&N Depot 7/27/09  Contributor's Pick!       
This area was at one time a busy L&N rail yard until it was moved 5 miles south to Memphis Jct. This Depot was built in 1925 and served passengers until 1979. The end of the platform was removed for a shoo-fly track to be built when the 6th steet underpass was widened.
