Shoving back         
Because of the track arrangement trains have to back into and out of the McGregor spur, which is actually a small piece of the Union Pacific line that ran from Moscow to Pullman. As a side note, although the conductor is not riding the shove, he is within sight distance and constant radio contact with the head end at all times during the move.
