PRR Westbound Passenger Train, 1940
Here is a photo by H.W. Pontin via Rail Photo Service that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, in July of 1940. Shown here is an unidentified Pennsylvania Railroad K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" pulling a passenger train around the Curve and up the Allegheny Mountains to Johnstown and points West. The third car in the train appears to be a Railway Post Office car. John S. Fisher Collection; #7 of 14.
