| LIRR H16-44 #1503 was caught by a rail fan as it headed up a freight on this date. The loco was not equipped to handle MU's so relegated to freight service.Originally this loco was the FM H15-44 demonstrator when the design was first built. LIRR purchased it and upgraded it to H16-44 to match the others it purchased. History - FM, 2/1949, demonstrator H15-44 #1503, sold to LIRR and upgraded.
