Eastbound NS train no.285 crosses Missouri Route 94 as it climbs the St.Charles Bridge over the Missouri River. While the power is largely unremarkable, the bridge was opened in 1936 and is rated at 7876 feet in length, with multiple deck girder approaches between an impressive canitlevered through-truss center section. Look closely at the mid span here and you might be able to faintly make out "WABA.." from its days with the Wabash RR. |
