| NORMAN OK June 3 1978 -- Santa Fe GP39-2 3631 overtakes train 563 lead by GP38 3556 at the north end of the passing siding in north Norman. Visible in the foreground is all that remains of the lead to the former U.S. Naval Air Station which was known at the time as North Base. EMD built 3631 in February 1975. In August 1986 it was rebuilt into ATSF GP39-2u 3400. It became BNSF 2769 on Feb 9 2000. (Roster information from atsfrr.net) |
