DL 2452 passing former Gouldsboro interlocking tower eastbound on the Ex-Lackawanna mainline  Contributor's Pick!
My hunch is that the train is a grain extra to Mt. Pocono, although there's a tank car in the consist. I was hiking the ex-DL&W from Gouldsboro to Tobyhanna, and was pleased to have a freight overtake me with such a photogenic prop near at hand. Behind the four big Alcos at the head end I counted 39 cars.

Gary Everhart General Wow, interesting shot. A curious mix of power and an extremely interesting shell of a tower. That one looks like it should be preserved somewhere with all the excellent details to it. 2/5/2012 6:55:03 AM

Fred Stuckmann General I would have to say that this is my personal favorite in a very nice album. 12/11/2012 11:04:21 PM
Tom Beckett General Nice ghost shot of the Erie Lackawanna. All you need is the EL on the nose of the C425!! The DLW towers were-like everything else they erected-built for the ages. There are several others still standing. Two I know of are at Alford on the line between Scranton and Binghamton, it controlled access to the Montrose branch; there was also one, I believe at Kingsley, also on the cut off. Relics that will stand forever. 12/12/2012 10:07:35 AM
