| In the late 70's LIRR had a program where you could ride the cab of a diesel train. The idea was to give commuters a better idea of what happened on the head end, and show the operating realities that crews dealt with, hopefully to foster some understanding on the part of riders when the trains were late. My first thought was "I can ride an FA" I rode from Oyster Bay to Hunterspoint Av. Had a good time on the trip. This was the unit I rode, prior to leaving Oyster Bay. |
