Virgil Fitzpatrick General Those poor GE's. Been neglected all these years and have patchwork paint jobs. 5/23/2006 7:02:30 AM
Joe Hughes General Hilarious! The paint shop foreman must have been tripping to mix H1 and H2 like that! 5/23/2006 9:46:31 AM
Jeffrey Streiff General This engine had fire damage recently. I thought they would paint it in H-3. 5/23/2006 7:53:42 PM
Ashley Rodriguez General and they think im crazy! 5/24/2006 1:13:19 AM

Dillon Harrison General BNSF can't figure out what paint scheme they want to keep.BNSF HI, BNSF H2, BNSF H3, Santa fe warbonet or the BN paint.5 paint schemes, one choice, SANTA FE WARBONET!!!! By 2010 there will be at a Heritage 8 or maybe even more. They just cant make up there mind! 6/1/2006 10:34:31 PM
Joe LeMay General For all of you that can't spell, get a dictionary. Anyway, the "boxes" on the side with the incorrect paintschemes are the air conditioner. As Jeffrey said, it had some burn damage, so it was repainted. They obviously didn't have any H1 decals left and they weren't going to repaint the whole unit, so they used an H2 decal and just redid the H1 striping. All of you who thought the paintshop forman was being whacko: He was actually being smart, getting this thing back out on the rails in BNSF paint as quickly as possible. 8/15/2006 1:33:15 PM
Richard Whitenight General Great shot Robert, a real keeper :-) 1/12/2007 11:58:10 PM
Zach Pumphery General Dear Hazmat Jow LeMay: Let the real BNSF employees that posted comments above have the last word. I still think the paint shop foreman was tripping on illegal drugs. It would be better to repaint the whole unit during the initial shop stay instead of having to do it later. It'll look twice as bad in two years, then they'll be shopping it again for paint. 10/30/2007 12:29:49 AM
Pat Scott General Joe, please consult said dictionary and see that "paintschemes" is two words and "forman" is spelled "foreman." 10/30/2007 6:04:17 PM
Scott R. Ikemeyer General Zach: If the rest of the unit's paint is in decent shape, why bother repainting the whole unit? Repaint only what needs painting and get the thing out on the road, that's a lot less downtime and makes perfect sense. I've seen BNSF units running with paint in a lot worse shape than this one. 10/30/2007 6:26:20 PM
Joe LeMay General There's a difference between being subject to typos and not knowing how to spell. Maybe if the unit had been a Warbonnet with burn damage, they would have repainted the whole thing, but most of it was still orange and green and didn't need new paint. Zach, Joe has no "W" in it. 11/7/2007 10:58:43 PM
Dave Howarth Jr. General Im not responding a comment to the one's listed above, however at least BNSF took the time to make sure 'BNSF' was still on the long hood as I have seen many other railroads repair with new parts and not even touch up the paint. They just left it with new parts and new doors giving the unit a true ugly appearance. This unit looks great and I wish I would be able to see a locomotive someday with so many colors! 12/11/2012 10:20:41 AM
