This depot was part of the Seattle, Lakeshore and Eastern Railroad. It had long ambitions but a pretty short rail network of the late 1800s. A couple of the bigwigs of the railroad were named Burke and Gilman, which#is now the name of the walking and bike path that used to be where the tracks went right past the University of Washington. |
