| Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad E8 9943A and E7 9927B arriving at Aurora with Train Number 21, the Morning Zephyr, also known as the Twin Cities Zephyr, on November 14, 1965, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. The Fireman was preparing to pick up train orders. The blunt end observation car was coupled to the baggage car. This was the practice in later years to save switching charges at Saint Paul. The power and baggage car would uncouple from the train upon arrival at Saint Paul, leaving the train at the station. The power would be turned and serviced, return to the station, couple to the train, and depart as Train Number 24, the Afternoon Zephyr. |
