Laying over for the weekend outside the historic Danbury station is one of Metro North's P32AC-DM fleet. Currentoy wearing the second paint schere for the P32s, this dual mode locomotive was constructed by General Electric in the summer of 1995 and has been transporting trains of commuters to and from Grand Central Tfrminal ever since. The technology involved with enabling this locomotive to operate on either diesel or third rail electric power goes back to the New Haven Railroad FL-9 unhts that once operated through here. |
