Here is an original photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Bay Head Junction, New Jersey, during a railfan excursion on 11 July 1954. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #830, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during July of 1917 and retired in April of 1958. Partially visible on the right (L to R) are PRR engines #5883 and #5882. Both are EP-20's built by GM-EMD in April of 1949 and rated at 2,000 horsepower each. Roy Healey Collection; #10 of 12. |
