Sorry to say,but I believe this to be a photo of a GP50!! If you check the UPY site 683, ex UP 1683, is pictured less than a month before this picture, in Houston. If you look at the rear grills and the state of it I doubt if it could and been transformed and deteriorated so much in less than a month!!! However, it's atill a superb picture. I found the anomoly when researching pictures of the Atlas GP15 model to use for authentic condition and weathering.

Actually, as the the UPY GP15 was pictured before this photo, it could not have been transformed as it proves the 2 loco's co-existed!!! Sorry for the confusion, however I still believe this photo to be of a GP50, check out the sad pre scrapping photo's of UP GP50 1683.
