Fairly nice color panoramic photo of the Siemens/Wegmann/Duewag U2 light rail vehicle built in 1978. The model name U2 is derived from the class identifier given to the cars in the Frankfurt system. Originally designed for and used by the Frankfurt U-Bahn, the model of car was adopted for light-rail use by transit systems in Edmonton, Calgary, and San Diego. The bulk of the U2 fleet was retired in 2013 with all being gone by 1/26/2015. Unknown photographer |
