Here is the Association of American Railroads' stock photo #5919. Caption On Reverse: "Ignitron freight locomotive in service on the Pennsylvania Railroad. This 6,000-horsepower locomotive was built in 1951." Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #4995 and #4996. Both are E-3B (B-B-B) electrics built by Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton in June of 1951, rated at 3,000 horsepower each, and retired in June of 1965 after just 14 years of experimental service. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded. John S. Fisher Collection; #40 of 44.
