Here is a photo by William E. Grant that was taken near Seaford, Delaware, on 16 June 1939. Photo Caption: "One of the engines being tested at Seaford, Del." Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5699, a K-5 (4-6-2) "Pacific" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during March of 1929 and retired in September of 1953 after 24 years of faithful service. Note the white stripes painted on the driving wheels for testing purposes. Gary Mittner Collection.
