This loco started out as Chicago, Milwaukee & St Paul Vauclain compound 4-6-0 #833 built by the Burnham, Wms & Co (Baldwin) in December of 1895. It didn't remain that for too long - re numbered in 4/1899 to CMStP #206, renumbered in 11/1905 to CMStP #844, renumbered in 11/1912 to CMStP #4006, rebuilt & renumbered in 7/1914 to CMStP #2256, and finally renumbered in 7/1938 to CMStP&P #1191. After serving nearly 50 years, the loco was scrapped in October of 1945. Simplified specs - 63" drivers, 180 psi boiler pressure, 19x26" cylinders, modest engine wt of 132,500 lb nad modest tractive effort of 22,794 lb. No photographer was listed for the photo. |
