Title:
PRR 3869, K-4S, c. 1951
Description:
Blackhawk. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide (converted to B&W) of a photo by Edwin E. Olsen that was taken in Fort Wayne, Indiana, perhaps in 1951. Photo Caption: "Pennsylvania Pacific, 4-6-2, No. 3869, at Fort Wayne, Indiana." PRR engine #3869 is a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during June of 1923 and retired in April of 1956 after 33 years of faithful service. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "When Steam Was King" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (357-11).
